Disabled Researchers Network Project 'Community and Connection' event

This event has already taken place.

Online

10:30 - 15:45

Registration no longer available

Funded via Research England’s ‘Enhancing Research Culture’ initiative, the Disabled Researchers Network project (PI Lucinda Matthews-Jones, History) is a two-year programme exploring how we can build a positive research culture for disabled researchers at LJMU and beyond.  Following a successful workshop in May, LJMU staff and postgraduate research students are warmly invited to our next event, 'Community and Connection', which will take place online on Thursday 25th July (10:30am-3:45pm, registration link). This will include:

  • The launch of the (funded) Disabled Researchers Network Coaching Scheme
  • Opportunities to network and make connections
  • The chance to have your say about the future direction of the project
  • Co-working slots – space to work on your own choice of task in a mutually supportive environment.

A full schedule and accessibility information can be found at the registration link. You can attend as many or as few sessions as you like, but registration is essential.  Researchers with lived experience of disability (broadly defined) are particularly encouraged to attend, but all LJMU staff and PGRs are welcome, regardless of identity or experience. There will be no pressure to disclose disability status, and allies are welcome.  The event is likely to be of particular relevance to colleagues with an interest in researcher development, research culture, and EDI, as well as PGR supervisors and line managers.

For any questions, please contact Lucinda Matthews-Jones or Ria Cheyne.
