Beginner Learn to Ride Class

Join our Beginner Learn to Ride Class and learn how to ride a bike within a safe, off-road environment.

John Lennon Art and Design Building Garden

14:30 - 15:30

Come along to our Beginner Learn to Ride class and learn how to ride a bike within a safe, paved, off-road environment. Whether you’re a complete beginner or haven’t ridden a bike for a long time, our trained instructor will teach you the basics from the start in a small group. During this session you will learn how to:

  • Glide;
  • Control your bike;
  • Pedal; and
  • Be aware of your surroundings.

We have a number of sessions between Tuesday 24th September and Thursday 26th September, starting at either 14:30 or 15:45.

Each session will last for 1 hour and will take place in the outdoor space at John Lennon Art and Design Building, and you will not ride on the road during the class.

We can provide bikes and helmets so you don’t need to own either to attend, but if you have your own you’re welcome to bring them! If you don't have your own bike, we’ll just need to know your height to make sure we provide the correct size.

These events aim to be inclusive, particularly for those who typically have a lower uptake of cycling such as women, those on low incomes, and those who identify as belonging to an ethnic minority group.
