Bethan is currently a Lecturer in Criminology within the School of Justice Studies. She has also taught for the Department of Sociology and Liverpool Business School at LJMU. Bethan’s previous appointments include Liverpool Hope University and The University of Liverpool International College.

She has a wealth of teaching experience in further and higher education, primarily in Sociology, Criminology, Business Studies, Childhood and Youth. Across these disciplines she has taught on a range of modules, applying theoretical perspectives and methodologies to topics such as Family, Youth, Crime and Deviance, Social Policy, Education and Business Enterprise.

Her main research interest is lone parent advancement and welfare to work policy, exploring the complexities of contemporary family life and work/life balance.

Bethan has also worked as a community researcher on a range of action research projects in the Liverpool City Region.
