Laxmi Timalsina is a PhD student at the Public Health Institute under the supervision of Pro. Padam Simkhada and Rose Khatri (PHI, LJMU). Her PhD titled, “Ageing well in Nepal? Exploring the health and social care needs of older people: A qualitative study focuses on exploring the experience of older people and identify any possible gaps in local service provision, which when addressed will assist for improving local health and social welfare needs of this population.
Most recently, Laxmi was a part of research team for capturing the key discussions around Primary Health Care (PHC) and the role of the Private Sector during the 5th Global Symposium on Health Systems Research 2018. She is also a vice secretary of the Nepal Study Society at LJMU. She has previously worked with Maitree Samaj, Kathmandu Nepal as a program organiser.
