Spin-out best practice commitments
A published statement of adoption of the best practices recommended in the spin-out review
Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) welcomes the recommendations for best practices in university spinouts put forward by Professor Irene Tracey CBE, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Oxford, and Dr Andrew Williamson, Managing Partner of Cambridge Innovation Capital, in their independent review of university spin-out companies. LJMU is committed to fully implementing these recommendations.
Although LJMU's current spin-out portfolio is small, we are focused on accelerating the number and quality of our spin-outs. By nurturing a steady stream of innovations, LJMU aims to develop new spin-out companies that address real-world challenges and achieve global impact. To this end, the university is enhancing and streamlining its policies, processes, and programmes to:
- Encourage academics to realise their impact through the creation of new spin-out companies via its commercialisation programme.
- Creating spin-outs at pace and on market-competitive terms.
- Providing the right commercial support for successful spin-out creation also through these programmes.
Through our commitment to fostering a culture of entrepreneurship and providing comprehensive support, we are dedicated to helping our spin-outs achieve their full potential.
