1. Bathgate Boost Award

   Thanks to our partnership with the Bathgate Group Ltd, LJMU are able to offer a £500 award to current LJMU students for fledgling start-up ventures based in the Liverpool City Region and the Northwest.

2. Volunteering and Summer Opportunities Fair - 9 February, 12-3pm, Student Life Building

   At our Volunteering and Summer Opportunities Fair, we'll have charities, businesses and organisations from across the UK and overseas from various sectors. Some are looking for volunteers, others are offering paid summer opportunities, including Go Global schemes like Camp America.

3. Green Careers and Sustainability Insights

   It is a great time to be interested in the green sector, as green jobs are growing at around four times the rate of the overall UK labour market.

4. Finding jobs in the green sector

   In 2023, LJMU ran their first Green Skills and Jobs Fair, inviting a range of organisations to meet LJMU students and graduates.

5. Building a network

   If you are interested in building a career in the green sector, then we recommend talking to people already working in this field.

6. Postgraduate study and short courses that support green skills building and future career goals

   Are you motivated to improve your understanding of sustainability and build specialist skills and knowledge for your future career?

7. Self-employment

   Self-employment can be well suited to disabled or neurodivergent students and graduates, if you find it difficult to keep up with traditional work.

8. Identifying inclusive and disability-friendly employers

   There are a number of initiatives and organisations that support employers to ensure that their recruitment process and working practices do not discriminate against jobseekers and employees with a disability or long-term health condition.

9. Starting a new job

   If you have accessed support for your disability or health condition throughout school and university, e.g. in the form of a support plan or funding, you might be concerned about similar support being available to you in the workplace.

10. Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

    LJMU’s varied programme of professional development courses offers individuals and organisations a range of opportunities to enable professional people to develop their career prospects and meet business objectives in a way that doesn't interfere with their working life.
