   Working in partnership with Mersey Forest, LJMU have developed the Natural Curriculum, which is already gaining a strong local and regional reputation. We run a professional practice hub for local schools and have successfully delivered Department for Education/Natural England funded income-generating programmes for teachers.

3. European Journalism Training Association Teachers' conference

   The university’s Journalism Department is hosting the European Journalism Training Association teachers’ conference, where teaching of sports, society and specialist journalism will be discussed by educators from across the continent.

4. Women in Sport and Exercise Academic Network (WiSEAN) Conference

   The aim of the conference is to provide a platform for students, academics, and practitioners to connect and share knowledge to create, promote, and lead change for women and girls across all facets of sport.

5. Physical Activity Exchange

   Our research is applied in nature and is focused on physical activity, sedentary behaviour, fitness and health in laboratory and various real world settings.

6. Sensors and Communications Group

   The Sensors and Communications group carry out applied research in collaboration with industries.

   Delta Fluids Products specialise in the field of controls, valves and gases. Discover how LJMU worked with this company to help develop a product.

8. Norman Thelwell (1923-2004)

   Norman is considered to be the most popular cartoonist in Britian since the Second World War and some regard him as the unofficial artist of the British countryside. As a graduate of the Liverpool College of Art, the forerunner to today’s Liverpool School of Art and Design, it was here that he undertook a course in illustration, one of the many ex-servicemen and women who joined the school after the war.

9. Michael Salla

   Michael is an alum of LJMU, having completed his undergraduate studies in sport science and postgraduate studies in public health here. Today he is the Deputy CEO of Everton in the Community, Everton Football Club’s charitable arm that supports thousands of people across Merseyside, often from the most vulnerable and underprivileged local communities, and creates life-changing opportunities.
