4. Armistice Day 2022 arrangements

   We will mark Armistice Day by observing a two-minute silence at 11am on Friday 11 November.

5. Menopause cafe April

   To keep conversations moving forward around the menopause, the next menopause café is scheduled to take place on Wednesday 19 April, from 10am to 11.30am in the John Lennon Art and Design Building, Ann Walker Seminar Room.

   Anthony Walker, Strategic Manager for the Horizons project, spoke with The Engineer about the adoption of game-changing technologies such as AI across the UK engineering sector and argues for urgent action.

7. Inclusive Allyship Programme (In Association With The Challenging Racism Webinar Series)

   Following the Challenging Racism Collaborative Campaign (webinar series), the University of Kent, Liverpool John Moores University and City, University of London are working with Inclusive Employers to deliver a virtual, Inclusive Allyship Programme.

8. Liverpool welcomes London's Lord Mayor for the day

   The Lord Mayor of the City of London visited Liverpool this week to back a major growth strategy and new vision for the city region. The Lord Mayor, Alderman the Lord Mountevans, met with business leaders in the city region as part of a visit organised by Professional Liverpool and Liverpool in London.

9. Teaching textile and craft processes to high school pupils

   Staff and students from the Liverpool School of Art and Design have opened their workshops to pupils from Crosby High School as part of a four-month long collaboration exploring university learning.

10. UK's chief scientists visit The Pandemic Institute

    The UK Government’s Chief Scientific Adviser Sir Patrick Vallance and the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) Chief Scientific Adviser Professor Lucy Chappell visited Liverpool this week to learn more about the role of The Pandemic Institute and its partner institutions, in tackling infectious diseases.
