1. Updating Your Microsoft Profile Picture

   From this month LJMU will begin publishing all student and staff security card photos into Microsofts 365 suite of products.

   Researchers have found that wild chimpanzees may copy each other’s gestures to maintain their complex social relationships.

3. Staff Qualifications and Health and Safety policy updates

   A number of LJMU staff policies have been updated.

4. Researchers shortlisted for prestigious Newton Prize

   Read how Dr Zhigang Ji and Dr Trung Thanh Nguyen from the LJMU Department of Maritime and Mechanical Engineering have been shortlisted for the 2017 Newton Prize.

5. Privacy and security survey

   To better understand how much we all know about data protection matters, a short staff survey has been put together.

6. New date for staff event raising awareness of domestic abuse support

   Staff are invited to an event on Wednesday 14 December from 10am to 11am at Exchange Station (Room 1 & 2), where they can find out more about how we're supporting those impacted by domestic abuse.

7. Human-altered ecosystems

   What can fossil bones tell us about the ecology and behaviour of extinct species? In two recent publications, Dr Carlo Meloro from the School of Natural Sciences and Psychology has worked with international teams to demonstrate how we can interpret palaeoecology (the ecology of fossil animals and plants) of extinct wild dogs by looking at their fore-limb and skull shape.

8. Graduation dates announced for March 2023

   Our next graduation ceremonies are now scheduled to take place between Monday 27 – Wednesday 29 March 2023

9. £5,000 raised for charity through NSS

   Our charity fundraising total stands at £5,000 after the first month of the National Student Survey (NSS).

10. Another successful year for the online summer course “Sustainability and Employability”

    Over 60 students successfully completed the online summer course Sustainability and Employability: Understanding Sustainability Issues and Getting Ready for the Job Market.
