  1. Dr Scott Foster

    Scott is the PhD programme leader with responsibility for the doctoral students in our business school. Having followed a path into the miliary at just 16, gaining only one GCSE, Scott came to study for a degree at LJMU later in life, eventually gaining a PhD before becoming a member of staff and now inspiring others to follow in his footsteps.

    LJMU is continuing with its pilot programme for internally funded Thematic Doctoral Pathway’s (TDP) to develop our own programmes of cohort-PhD offer.

  3. About MEMARC

    The Mechanical Engineering and Materials Research Centre (MEMARC) specialises in fracture and contact mechanics, wave propagation in lattices and microstructures, thermal fatigue and thermal striping, materials development and processing, as well as dynamics and control systems.     The Contemporary Art Lab's digital creative research relates to the relationship between technology and culture, as well as the way meaning unfolds through new computational forms.

  5. Dr Will Swaney

    Will is an award-winning lecturer in our School of Biological and Environmental Sciences. He has been able to use technology to transform student learning.

  7. Professor Roger Webster

    Professor Roger Webster is the former Executive Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Professional and Social Studies and Professor of Literary Studies at the university. He was awarded an Honorary Fellowship by LJMU in 2017 for his outstanding contribution to arts and cultural education. He brought together a book on the origins and history of LJMU, released in 2017 for the university’s 25th anniversary.
