   Nina Allan has been announced as the winner of the Novella Award, hosted by LJMU.

2. Spectacular Neanderthal find reopens debate about earliest 'burials'

   The discovery of a virtually complete Neanderthal skeleton in Northern Iraq is set to reopen the debate about whether our closest ancient human relatives buried their dead.

3. Drones to the rescue: wildlife park footage will help save endangered animals

   Scientists at LJMU are capturing the thermal profiles of animals at a local wildlife park in order to help researchers around the world classify and monitor endangered species in the wild.

   LJMU is looking for staff to help recruit students to LJMU during Clearing 2024 on Thursday 15 August.

5. LJMU receives Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence and National Teaching Fellowship

   LJMU is one of 15 teams to win the Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence (CATE) and an LJMU academic has also been awarded one of 54 National Teaching Fellows (NTF). Dr Philip Denton, Principal Lecturer at the School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences, is the recipient of the NTF and the paramedic team at LJMU’s Schools of Nursing and Allied Health received the CATE.
