An LJMU student and several LJMU sports experts are behind a cohort of para-athletes who will be going for gold in Rio this week.
Each year applications are invited for the conferment of Professorships and Readerships and the process for 2019 is now open.
Sir Bert was a leading disability rights activist and was awarded his Honorary Fellowship at LJMU in 2002 for services to equality and promoting the rights of disabled people. He also served as a Governor of the university for nine years.
