1. Work starts on new student spaces

   Find out more about the new student social spaces that be popping up around campus over the summer, ready for students returning in September.

3. Menopause cafe April

   To keep conversations moving forward around the menopause, the next menopause café is scheduled to take place on Wednesday 19 April, from 10am to 11.30am in the John Lennon Art and Design Building, Ann Walker Seminar Room.

   LJMU has published a new Open Access Publication Policy for its staff.

5. FAMELab2016 regional heat winner

   Marine Biogeochemistry PhD student Emma-Lou Smith has won the regional heat of FAMElab2016, held at LJMU.

6. Special Collections and Archives on the BBC

   The Library's 19th century periodicals collection will be featured in an episode of Celebrity Antiques Road Trip on Thursday 24th January. Presenter Martel Maxwell and expert James Braxton talked to Professor Brian Maidment before heading over to the School of Art & Design to be sketched by two graphic design students.

7. LJMU and Shakespeare North

   Planning permission has been granted for a new £19 million Shakespeare theatre for Prescot, Knowsley, which will have education at its heart.

8. New partnership to help Liverpool continue course to becoming leading entrepreneurial city

   £500,000 for five years of start-up business support at LJMU

9. LJMU joins Higher Education, Transnational Education (TNE) mission to Vietnam and Cambodia

   During the mission, LJMU were able to showcase their University offerings, meet with the UK Ambassador to Vietnam, Gareth Ward, and hold business to business meetings to ignite discussions surrounding the development of transnational education opportunities.

10. Students celebrate Grand National

    LJMU students and alumni joined forces with Crabbie's Grand National to showcase elements of the three-day world-renowned racing Festival at the Museum of Liverpool.
