4. Electrical and Electronic Engineering facilities

   The Electrical and Electronic Engineering Research Centre has a wide range of facilities, including probe stations, test samples, semiconductor parameter analyzers and a range of three-phase and multiphase (five-phase, six-phase and nine-phase) machines too. The Centre also has two-level and three-level voltage source inverters and a three-phase to nine-phase direct matrix converter.

5. Centre for Port and Maritime History people and expertise

   The Centre undertakes historical research on port cities and examines their relationship to maritime ventures and enterprise.

6. CPMH Book Series

   Current CPMH Co-Director, Professor Nicholas J White (LJMU) and former CPMH Co-Director, Professor Andrew Popp (Copenhagen Business School) are the series editors of the Liverpool University Press book series, Studies in Port and Maritime History.

7. Centre for Port and Maritime History Projects and Exhibitions

   LJMU’s CPMH members have contributed to or curated several exhibitions and are currently involved in exciting new and inter-disciplinary projects, including one centred on the Battle of the Atlantic 80th Anniversary Celebrations.

8. About the Astrophysics Research Institute

   The Astrophysics Research Institute is interested in star formation, stellar evolution, time-domain astrophysics, galaxy formation and clusters, dynamics and evolution. Our aim is to become an internationally recognised centre of excellence in astrophysics. 9. Contexts of human evolution

   Research within the Contexts of Human Evolution Group involves archaeological, palaeontological and environmental analyses of human evolution. Our research focuses on mammalian evolution, hominin behaviour and ecology, and patterns of faunal and floral distribution. 10. Alcohol

    At the Public Health Institute we look into alchohol consumption and harm across a range of populations and environments. We take up original research and study established datasets to understand the impacts of alcohol on society.
