1. Professional Services Staff Governor Elections

   Five candidates have put themselves forwards for the position and voting will take place between Monday 13 and 27 March.

2. Staff Governor voting now open

   All Professional Services staff have until 5pm on Monday 27 March to vote for their preferred Staff Governor candidate.

3. New book tracks nursing care in the Soviet Union

   LJMUs Dr Susan Grant has spent the last decade researching and tracing the history of nursing care in the Soviet Union, with her discoveries now documented in a new publication Soviet Nightingales: Care under Communism.

4. Staff networks explored, explained and celebrated

   Staff recently came together to celebrate the power of staff networks in the workplace and to mark the launch of the Admin and PA Staff Network.

5. Battle of the Atlantic 80th anniversary events led by LJMU

   This month Liverpool will play host to a swathe of commemorative events marking its links with WWII’s Battle of the Atlantic, 80 years on. LJMU’s staff and students across its Drama, History and Maritime programmes will play a role in marking this milestone anniversary

6. Let’s Talk About Disability Workshop (Virtual) - Tips For Supporting Staff/Students With Disabilities & Long-Term Health Conditions Including Mental Health

   This is an opportunity for LJMU/JMSU Managers, Programme Leaders and Personal Tutors (those directly responsible for staff/students) to participate in a half day (three hour) virtual, Lets Talk About Disability Workshop in order to gain tips for supporting staff/students with disabilities & long-term health conditions including mental health.

7. Let's explain how slavery streets got their names

   A reaccounting  of Liverpools uncomfortable slaving history is being backed by experts at Liverpool John Moores University.

10. Black History Month through the eyes of a local Liverpool pupil

    This month Ceana Khonje, a local pupil from Belvedere College in Liverpool took on a work experience placement here at LJMU.
