2. International curriculum handbook to enhance teaching of technology education

   Dr Matt McLain, a Senior Lecturer in Education and Professional Learning in the School of Education has co-edited the Bloomsbury Handbook of Technology Education, a forward thinking new text that brings together international perspectives to enhance technology teaching.

3. International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) - 3rd December 2019

   1981 was designated by the United Nations as the International Year of Disabled People and since then, 3rd December has been marked as the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The day aims to promote a better understanding of disability issues with a focus on the rights of disabled people and the gains derived from their integration into every aspect of the political, social, economic and cultural life of our communities.

4. MA Short Film Festival 2023 returns 24 to 31 March

   The festival returns for its third edition, featuring 42 films from across the globe that showcase the work of the best and brightest emerging student filmmakers.

5. Liverpool in Shanghai: celebrating 25 years as sister cities

   Forty seven members of students and staff from Liverpool John Moores University have visited China this month as part of the Liverpool Outbound Education Mission to Shanghai.

6. Trans Day of Visibility Friendship Event and Open House

   An event and open house for students and staff on Friday 31 March

7. Expertise in design and technology education shared at international UNESCO event

   Dr Matt McLain from the School of Education attended the event in Shenzhen, China.

   International Relations team bid wins £1m to double Turing Scheme funding for 24/25.

9. Introducing the JMSU Student Officer team 2024/25

   Four new student officers are now in post for the 2024/2025 academic year to represent the 27,000 students at LJMU.

10. LJMU celebrates first anniversary of UK Malaysia University Consortium

    The UK Malaysia University Consortium (UK-MUC) Secretariat based in the Faculty of Engineering and Technology at LJMU, together with Education Malaysia London (EML) hosted the UK-MUC Celebratory Event & EXCEL Workshop at the High Commission of Malaysia in London on Monday 27 March 2023 to mark the one year anniversary of the Consortium.
