2. Sexual Violence Awareness Week

   Throughout Sexual Violence Awareness Week (Monday 4th – Sunday 10th February), a new team of staff from Student Advice and Wellbeing Services were out and about across the University to talk to students and staff about the impact sexual violence and harassment has on individuals and communities

3. New Reading List Management System Launched.

   In January 2015 Library Services piloted the use of a reading list management system, Rebus:List with 27 academics across the University with a soft launch that Summer.

4. Black Lives Matter

   On the 12-month anniversary of the death of George Floyd, LJMU has restated its commitment to change and respond to the needs of people of colour.

5. The anatomy of our ancestors

   Forensic techniques by international scientists, led by LJMU’s Dr Matteo Borrini, have created the facial reconstruction of the oldest preserved mummy in the Egyptian Museum of Florence.

6. Funding boost to progress mass finishing technologies

   A £330,000 funding boost will help researchers at Liverpool John Moores University progress their work on pioneering improvements in mass finishing technologies, the use of which is expanding rapidly across a range of sectors including aerospace, autosports, automotive, pharmaceutical, medical device, tool making and general engineering.

7. Volunteer for Claire House

   Our corporate charity Claire House is looking for volunteers on Saturday 29 February and Sunday 1 March at the welcoming of HMS Prince of Wales on the Liverpool Waterfront.

8. Graduate and Placement Jobs Fair

   The Graduate and Placement Jobs Fair takes place on Wednesday 18 October at the Student Life Building, 12-3pm. It will feature 60+ organisations from a range of sectors looking to hire students from across all courses and disciplines. If you have a disability, health condition or are neurodivergent and find busy fairs can be overwhelming, join us from 11am for our accessibility hour.

9. Final Year Future Week and Grad Café for final year students

   Graduating this summer? Join the LJMU Student Futures team for a week of talks and careers sessions focussing on supporting your next steps and come along to our Grad Café to meet and talk to fellow students graduating in 2022

10. Churchill Way Flyovers

    Liverpool City Council will shortly begin the process of demolishing the Churchill Way flyovers.
