1. GaP Training - Additonal Dates Available

   Additional training dates have now been made available as GaP (Grants and Projects) training has proved to be very popular.

2. School of Nursing and Allied Health receives £250,000 from ESRC

   The School of Nursing and Allied Health has been awarded £250,000 from the prestigious Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) for a project which will examine the rights of healthcare practitioners in relation to abortion.

3. Next phase of CourseLoop set to go live

   The second phase of LJMU’s new curriculum management system is poised to go live and there will be temporary changes in how staff update their course information.

4. UKRI open access policy changes from 1 January 2024

   The open access policy applies to monographs, book chapters and edited collections associated with UKRI funding published from 1 January 2024.

5. ICC Head of Research invited to join AHRC Peer Review College 2020-23

   Following a competitive nomination process, LJMU's Kerry Wilson has been invited by the Arts and Humanities Research Council to join its academic Peer Review College.

6. Professional Services Conference 2020 - call for submissions extended

   The main theme of this conference is 'Continuous Improvement: the Art of the Possible'. In response to positive feedback from last year's conference, we again welcome submissions on the sub-theme of Health and Wellbeing.

7. How to find and access defibrillators across campus

   We have 60 on campus which anyone can access and use in the event of an emergency.

8. Humanities PhD student awarded for outstanding paper

   Sean Creaney, a lecturer in Childhood and Youth Studies at Stockport College, who is currently studying for his PhD in the School of Humanities and Social Science, has just been awarded ‘Outstanding Paper’ in the 2015 Emerald Literati Network Awards for Excellence

9. Royal Photographic Society award for Professor Wilkinson

   Professor Caroline Wilkinson, Director of LJMU’s School of Art and Design, has received a prestigious award from the Royal Photographic Society (RPS).

10. School of Computer Science and Mathematics Christmas social and staff awards

    Staff and students gathered around for festive activities and to appreciate staff rewarded for work above and beyond their normal duties.
