1. Student Led European Youth Parliament Regional Debating Event

   A European Youth Parliament (EYP) regional debating event was hosted on campus on Wednesday 28 February, organised by LJMU students Rachael Carroll and Zoe Woodward.

2. Liverpool John Moores University signs up to NW’s £54m ‘Hollywood’ plan

   Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) has been confirmed as the education partner at the much-anticipated Littlewoods Film and TV Studios being developed in the city by CAPITAL&CENTRIC with Liverpool City Council.

3. LJMU wins funding for 200 new Degree Apprenticeships under Government initiative

   LJMU will be opening its doors to an extra 200 new employer-supported Degree Apprentices in September 2017, after being only one of 18 universities to secure part of a multimillion pound Government fund.

4. Training for managers/personal tutors on disabilities and long-term health conditions, including mental health

   The aim of the programme is to offer LJMU Managers, Programme Leaders and Personal Tutors further support and guidance, in relation to; operating more confidently and effectively, whilst developing themselves and their staff/students positively.

5. University shortlisted for three THELMAs

   LJMU has been nominated for three Times Higher Education Leadership and Management Awards (THELMAs).

6. Graduation dates announced for March 2023

   Our next graduation ceremonies are now scheduled to take place between Monday 27 – Wednesday 29 March 2023

7. LJMU PHD student Valeria Carini recognised at Pandemic Institute’s first Student Excellence Awards

   Valeria was presented the award alongside students from the University of Liverpool and Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine with grants for scientific research, aimed to enhance preparedness for future pandemics.

8. New Liverpool Health Commission to focus on first 1,000 days of life

   Liverpool Health Commission, an independent panel established by Liverpool John Moores University, with research expertise and support provided by the university, has been set up to investigate and analyse health care policy issues.

9. International arts festival will launch the new Liverpool Fabric District

   An international festival of art, music and performance featuring world firsts will be taking place in May to celebrate the launch of the Fabric District in Liverpool.

10. Weight management programme 90% effective in tackling childhood obesity
