    At the Public Health Institute we look into alchohol consumption and harm across a range of populations and environments. We take up original research and study established datasets to understand the impacts of alcohol on society.

    The Public Health Institute's data collection and monitoring systems support public health reporting. Our surveillance systems include: Integrated Monitoring System, Trauma and Injury Intelligence Group, HIV Surveillance and the Drug Interventions Programme.

    We deliver real-world solutions to the football community. Our areas of interest within football include: fitness and nutrition, psychology, match analysis, physical activity, skill acquistion and coaching, and performance analysis.

    Our research is applied in nature and is focused on physical activity, sedentary behaviour, fitness and health in laboratory and various real world settings.

  5. Cognition, Education and Language Research Theme

    The Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience Research Group is concerned with the mechanisms underlying cognitive and emotional behaviour and the disruption of these processes by drugs, ageing, atypical development or disease.   7. Drone Technologies and Sensing

    The Drone Technologies and Sensing (DTS) research area combines some of the latest research from the General Engineering Research Institute (GERI) in the field of state-of-the-art drone technology, alongside well established research streams in optical measurement and sensing that have a long history of sustained research excellence.
