   Changes to the See My Tutor system include a new landing page, enhancements to appointment booking, and the ability for tutors to capture and share notes from the meeting

4. International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) - 3rd December 2019

   1981 was designated by the United Nations as the International Year of Disabled People and since then, 3rd December has been marked as the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The day aims to promote a better understanding of disability issues with a focus on the rights of disabled people and the gains derived from their integration into every aspect of the political, social, economic and cultural life of our communities.

5. LJMU Library launches new reading corner

   LJMU Library has developed a new children's reading corner, providing access to a collection of children's books. This new space provides a fun and relaxed reading area for use by students, staff, local teachers and school children.

6. Student teachers learn together with families seeking asylum in Toxteth

   A group of student teachers are working with families seeking asylum in Liverpool to provide education sessions for children without a place at school.

   Our John Moores Students Union (JMSU) VP Education, Shaquita Corry, gives her top three apps every student needs to start their LJMU journey.

8. 91 LJMU students jet off to study abroad this month

   Over ninety students will head off to 18 countries this year as part of LJMU's Study Abroad Programme.

9. Drones to the rescue: wildlife park footage will help save endangered animals

   Scientists at LJMU are capturing the thermal profiles of animals at a local wildlife park in order to help researchers around the world classify and monitor endangered species in the wild.

10. LJMU partners with L8 community celebration

    On Saturday 25 June, staff and students from LJMU will join hundreds of people at Firefit Community Hub (115 Upper Warwick Street, L8 8HD) in Toxteth for a community fair and celebration of everyone and everything that makes L8 so unique.
