‘Breaking Ground’ saw internationally-renowned architect Daniel Libeskind discuss the inspiration behind some of the world’s most iconic buildings, including the reconstruction of the World Trade Center, the Jewish Museum in Berlin and Manchester’s Imperial War Museum.
Spearheaded by School of Education lecturer, Adam Vasco, the two-year project aims to bridge the gap between school and university to ensure that people of all backgrounds, especially those from the Global Majority, have the confidence and support to choose university study.

Among the 100 people featured in the campaign is Malik Al Nasir, an author, poet and academic from Liverpool who studied new media production at LJMU.
The university will close at 5pm on Thursday 23 December and reopen at 9am on Tuesday 4 January. The Student Life Building will be open 24/7 throughout the festive break including on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day.
