2. Discoveries of faint galaxies using supernovae

   Tom Sedgwick, PhD student at the Astrophysics Research Institute (ARI), part of LJMU,has with a team of ARI astronomers discovered 140 ‘new’galaxies, with findings due to be published in April’s edition of the prestigious journal Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society.

3. A study of the chimpanzee precursor of HIV-1 could lead to a better AIDS vaccine

   Liverpool John Moores University has been part of an international research team, led by Professor Beatrice Hahn and colleagues at the Perelman School of Medicine, who have been studying the origin of HIV-1 in non-human primates for decades.

4. Sexual Violence Awareness Week

   Throughout Sexual Violence Awareness Week (Monday 4th – Sunday 10th February), a new team of staff from Student Advice and Wellbeing Services were out and about across the University to talk to students and staff about the impact sexual violence and harassment has on individuals and communities

5. Staff and community partners celebrate LGBT History Month

   To mark LGBT HIstory Month, LJMU Together (the University's LGBT+ Staff Network) organised a social event on Friday 22nd February featuring talks and a chance to play 'Psychic Bingo' with Liverpool's Lady Seanne.

6. Award-winning academic visits LJMU to talk about compassion in HE

   The School of Education invites leading academic to talk to staff about compassion in HE

7. Exam Timetables

   April/May 2019 Examination Timetables are now available for LJMU students.

8. North West Cross Institutional Action Learning for Women

   North West Cross Institutional Action Learning in partnership with the University of Liverpool and Chester University. A development opportunity for 13 LJMU women working in academic and professional services roles to develop leadership capability and overcome career related challenges

9. New Researcher Development Opportunities:Dates Worth Saving

   New, exciting researcher development opportunities will be on offer over the coming months. Available only for limited numbers of researchers, it’s worth ‘saving the dates’.

10. Grad Fest 2019 – event for final year students on 3 April

    Grad Fest 2019 is a new event for final year students at LJMU, taking place on 3 April from 2pm-7pm at the John Lennon Art and Design Building.
