1. Congratulations - we walked around the world 12 times in only 100 days!

   This is the fourth consecutive year that LJMU has enjoyed 100 days of stepping and wellbeing - with 78 teams taking part between 23 May and 30 August 2018.

2. Immersive Storytelling Experiences explored at Liverpool Screen School Symposium

   On December 14, Liverpool Screen School welcomed over 200 guests from industry and academia and over 30 speakers, including demonstrations, to discuss how immersive technology was impacting on storytelling.

3. Embracing innovation and emerging technologies in the housebuilding sector

   We are demanding more from housing than ever before. Not only should it provide shelter and comfort for inhabitants, but it should also embrace technological advances, contribute positively to energy efficiency, reduce carbon emissions, and support the development of sustainable communities.

4. LightNight 2018

   The LightNight festival, which takes place on Friday 18 May this year, promotes the city’s arts and cultural offer to people who may not usually engage with the arts.

5. LJMU announces Honorary Fellowships for July Graduation

   The prestigious titles are awarded to those who have made an outstanding contribution to society, or an outstanding achievement by an individual in a given field, resonating with the ethos of the University and the city of Liverpool.

6. Zia Chaudhry MBE is to join Liverpool John Moores University as the Director of the LJMU Foundation for Citizenship

   As Director of the LJMU Foundation for Citizenship, Zia will lead the University’s social engagement activity, building on LJMU’s long history of community engagement and impact, ensuring that the University maintains strong and innovative partnerships with other community organisations.

7. LJMU and Merseyside Police Embark on Joint Venture

   Liverpool John Moores University and Merseyside Police have agreed a project to assess the feasibility of a Joint Academy. The University and the force have been working together for the past ten years to strengthen ties between academic study and policing.

8. Honorary Fellow The Sorrell Foundation

   Liverpool John Moores University awards Honorary Fellowship to The Sorrell Foundation at Liverpool Cathedral on Thursday 12 July 2018.

9. Science of football success for LJMU alumnus

   Mexico football manager and LJMU alumnus, Juan Carlos Osorio, recently led his team to victory against Germany in their first World Cup match, highlighting his career-shaping time on LJMU’s Science and Football programme as it celebrates 20 years of world-leading sports education.

10. Cheering for research and innovation at the Royal Court

    LJMU welcomed nearly 300 staff to the third Research and Innovation Day at the Royal Court on 20 June.
