2. First Step Spring Internships available for Level 4 students

   A new pilot internship programme for first year students (level 4 only) with little to no previous work experience launched on Monday 15 January and close at midnight on Sunday 4 February. There will be no interview process for these opportunities, the Student Futures team will undertake a matching process between participating organisations and students. The internships will begin on Monday 4 March (start dates may vary for each role).

   LLJMU and the University of Liverpool and have been awarded £1m for a new Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in data intensive science.

5. LJMU awarded £44,000 to promote chemistry to school pupils in hard to reach areas

   LJMU has been awarded £44,000 to expand an innovative chemistry outreach scheme to encourage young people from 11 schools across deprived areas of Liverpool City Region, to become the scientists of the future.

7. Media Production student Lilly wins British Citizen Youth Award

   Lilly Crisp, a second-year media production (BA) student has won a British Citizen Youth Award (BCyA) at a ceremony in Westminster thanks to her multiple volunteering roles since the age of 14.
