  1. Discoveries of faint galaxies using supernovae

    Tom Sedgwick, PhD student at the Astrophysics Research Institute (ARI), part of LJMU,has with a team of ARI astronomers discovered 140 ‘new’galaxies, with findings due to be published in April’s edition of the prestigious journal Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society.

  2. International Conference on Mixed Methods Research (ICMMR 2019)

    Prof Padam Simkhada, Professor of International Public Health at the Public Health Institute, Liverpool John Moores University, delivered the keynote speech in the International Conference on Mixed Methods Research (ICMMR 2019) at the Mahatma Gandhi University in Kerala, India on Saturday 23rd February 2019. Professor Simkhada also gave an inaugural speech on the implications of mixed methods on health service research during the conference inauguration ceremony.

  3. Grants and Projects Update

    New Grants and Projects (GaP) software which provides LJMU with a collaborative creative environment for anyone applying for external funding and professional services to work together on bid and project proposals.

  4. In memoriam: Lady Grantchester

    It is with great sadness that the university marks the passing of Lady Grantchester, Honorary Fellow, and eldest daughter of the university namesake the late Sir John Moores.

  5. LJMU Wellbeing Week 11th – 15th March.

    We have a full week of activities which draw attention to the importance of wellbeing and provides an opportunity for staff and students to try out new approaches to staying healthy and happy.

  6. Student finance reminder

    If you are an undergraduate student and are continuing on your course in September 2019, don’t forget to reapply for your student finance as soon as possible.

    We are aware of a couple of LJMU students being diagnosed with mumps in the last few days.
