1. CPD Fundamentals of coaching for developing health and social care practice

   This CPD course will develop your knowledge of the theory underpinning coaching and help you develop strategies and skills for coaching in your practice.

2. Research Themes within the Research Centre for Brain and Behaviour

   Find out more about the specific areas of expertise within the Research Centre for Brain and Behaviour, including: applied psychology, cognitive psychology, sports psychology, affective neuroscience, psychopharmacology, animal behaviour, health psychology and mindfulness.

3. Student Futures Internships Programme

   In 2023 Student Futures ran a Green Internship Project with three LJMU students. Their assignment was to explore the area of Green Careers and Skills in more depth.

4. Think Aloud

   Dr Amy Whitehead initially used and developed ‘Think Aloud’ as part of her PhD, looking at how Golfers make decisions. This led her to develop a course which supports sports coaches development, which was initially funded by LJMU, and delivered to a number of coaches at St Helens Rugby League Club.

5. Research Centre for Brain and Behaviour

   Within the Research Centre for Brain and Behaviour we are involved in research which looks at perception, attention, emotion, learning and memory, sensory and motor processes, and includes animal models of neurobehavioral research. We investigate cognitive and brain mechanisms in psychologically and neurologically intact animals and humans, and the disruption of these processes caused by drugs, brain damage, ageing or atypical development.

6. Intelligence and surveillance

   The Public Health Institute's data collection and monitoring systems support public health reporting. Our surveillance systems include: Integrated Monitoring System, Trauma and Injury Intelligence Group, HIV Surveillance and the Drug Interventions Programme.

7. Being Lean and Seen

   The purpose of the Being Lean and Seen project is to advance project management knowledge with the end goal of helping people deliver successful projects.
