1. Vaping not permitted in LJMU buildings

   This is a reminder that vaping is not permitted in any building at Liverpool John Moores University.

2. Updates to Relocation Policy for new staff

   The Relocation Policy for new staff has been updated to ensure it reflects HMRC guidance.

3. Introducing eco-friendly search engine Ecosia

   In support of JMSUs Sustainability Week taking place from next Monday, 3 February, the university will be trialling a new eco-friendly default internet search engine.

5. In memorium: Gaynor Holmes

   The university is saddened to report the death of Gaynor Holmes who will be known to many staff for her long years of service in HR.

6. In memoriam: John Windle

   We are saddened to learn of the death of our former colleague, John Windle.

7. Student Information System Upgrade

   The University’s Student Information System (SIS) is being upgraded. SIS will be unavailable during the upgrade, from 5pm on Thursday 21st November until 8am on Tuesday 26th November.

8. Armistice Day 2024 arrangements

   We will mark Armistice Day by observing a two-minute silence at 11am on Monday 11 November.

9. Scholarships for new students

   Every year we award a range of scholarships from £1,000 to £5,000 that don't need to be paid back!
