  4. Professor Michael Brown CBE DL

    Professor Michael Brown was the second Vice-Chancellor of the university, taking on the role at the helm from 2000 to 2011. Under his leadership, the university underwent a decade of quiet revolution, with the development of new campus buildings and a focus on graduate employability.

  5. Professor Peter Toyne CBE DL

    Professor Peter Toyne was the Rector at Liverpool Polytechnic between 1986 and 1992 and the first LJMU Vice-Chancellor, once it gained university status, from 1992 to 2000. His vision for the polytechnic and then the university benefited not just students but Liverpool too.

    The Marine Technical Superintendent is a shore-based, technical role responsible for the safe and economic operation of a fleet of vessels. They oversee vessel performance and are responsible for the technical and operational condition of vessels from an engineering perspective.

  7. Ship Operations Manager

    The Ship Operations Manager is a shore-based role responsible for the commercial management of vessels. Directly accountable to the vessel management organisation e.g. ship management company or ship owner, this role ensures efficient and effective operation of a fleet of vessels from a commercial perspective.

  8. Education – interviews with women activists in Nepal

    As a part of the Qualitative Analysis in Action project, you are invited to read the interviews with women who are making positive changes to education in Nepal. The interviews help us to gain a better understanding of these women's unique and inspirational lives.
