  4. Royal Society Partnership Grants

    Partnership Grants of up to £3000 are available to schools to enable students to carry out science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM) projects. The School of Sport and Exercise Sciences runs two of these projects per year.

  5. Research Centre for Brain and Behaviour

    Within the Research Centre for Brain and Behaviour we are involved in research which looks at perception, attention, emotion, learning and memory, sensory and motor processes, and includes animal models of neurobehavioral research. We investigate cognitive and brain mechanisms in psychologically and neurologically intact animals and humans, and the disruption of these processes caused by drugs, brain damage, ageing or atypical development.

  6. Postgraduate study with LOOM

    LOOM is accepting PhD applicants who wish to carry out research into the design and operation of large engineering systems, as well as research on operational research, including simulation, optimisation and evolutionary computation.   9. Applied Physiology Nutrition and Metabolism Group

    The Applied Physiology Nutrition and Metabolism Group within RISES are involved in health, wellbeing, recovery and sporting performance. Our research into exercise metabolism and adaptation is applicable to the design of interventions that improve human health.
