1. Face Lab wins Research Team of the Year

   Liverpool John Moores University’s Face Lab has scooped the 2019 Educate North Research Team of the Year Award, for its innovative techniques in craniofacial identification and forensic art.

2. Liverpool City Region HDD project trials new digital technologies at Salt and Tar weekender

   Experts at LJMU will analyse data from the trial to improve connectivity for people attending busy events.

3. LJMU receives £1.3million for new STFC data science training centre

   Liverpool John Moores University, in partnership with the University of Liverpool, are set to host a new £1.3million Centre for Doctoral Training providing comprehensive postgraduate training in data intensive science.

4. One of only eight universities to secure prestigious international funding

   LJMU has been awarded approximately £490,000 from Research England’s first ever International Investment Initiative (I3). The award has been jointly made to LJMU and The University of Western Australia (UWA) for the international collaboration project, i-CARDIO. The project has a dual focus; the first component is the delivery of workshops to develop innovative ways to detect cardiovascular diseases for preventative intervention using imaging techniques. The second element is the evaluation of Australia’s model of accreditation of clinical exercise scientists and physiologists. The accreditation incorporates university and work place-based learning to enable graduates to secure roles in the healthcare system as recognised allied health professionals.

5. Masters in Art and Design Degree Show: Class of 2020 show their enterprise

   Around 40 students will exhibit their ideas from MA courses in Fine Art, Graphic Art and Illustration, Art in Science, Fashion Innovation and Realisation and Exhibition Studies.

6. Students visit textiles and life conference

   MA Fashion Innovation and Realisation students: Joshua Marriott, Macarena Morilla Dominguez and Courtney Hammond presented research posters based on their MA proposals.

7. LJMU to host first Integrated Care Symposium this summer

   Academics and practitioners interested in integrated care across the Liverpool City Region are encouraged to attend the inaugural event on Wednesday 10 July.

8. Honorary Fellowship: Steve Hawkins

9. Collaborating with the chemical and shipping industry for a technology-driven low carbon supply chain

   LJMU recently brought together representatives from the chemical and shipping industry to discuss innovative solutions to the sector’s supply chain.
