1. Join an LJMU Staff Network and take on a key Network Official role

   Did you know LJMU has a number of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) related Staff Networks and Ally Groups, that LJMU and JMSU staff can join?

2. New performance review and development system

   Following a successful pilot scheme, from next week all staff will be able to access a brand new system to take ownership of their development and objective.

3. North West Higher Education Action Learning Programme

   LJMU are offering up to ten places for women working in academic and professional services roles to take part in cross institutional action learning sets with peers from universities in the North West region.

4. REF 2021 Consideration for Individual Circumstances

   As part of the University's commitment to supporting equality and diversity in the forthcoming Research Excellence Framework (REF 2021), we have put in place safe and supportive structures for eligible academic staff to declare information about any equality-related circumstances that may have affected their ability to research productively during the assessment period (1 January 2014 - 31 December 2020), and particularly their ability to produce research outputs at the same rate as staff not affected by circumstances.

5. Disability History Month at LJMU

   Disability History Month begins today (16 November – 16 December) and our Disabled Staff Network, EDI team and JMSU will be hosting an event on Friday 2 December.

6. 'Let's reverse the damage we've done to the planet'

   Research at LJMU is helping to make a difference to the species extinction crisis by implementing conservation translocation best practice and advising government inquiries.

7. Major new study into impacts of COVID-19 on children

   A major study has been launched to learn more about the impact of COVID-19 on children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

8. April/May exam timetable now live

   The next assessment period for LJMU students will take place from Monday 22 April to Friday 3 May 2024 (inclusive).

9. Invictus Games UK team members get support from LJMU sport scientists

   Strength and conditioning training as well as nutritional advice and access to gym facilities is on offer for two Merseyside-based competitors.
