   Drone research at LJMU is branching out into new areas including working with Google Maps and Google Earth engines and introducing a ‘Civic Drones programme’ for the business community.

7. Astrophysics Research Institute PhD student receives only UK award from NASA

   LJMU has the highest number of Hubble Fellowships in the UK, as one of their latest awards goes to an Astrophysics Research Institute student straight out of her PhD. Dr Emma Beasor was also the only UK student awarded a Fellowship this year.

8. Queen's New Year's Honours for LJMU Honorary Fellows

   Six LJMU Honorary Fellows have been recognised in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours list 2017.

9. LJMU funded bootcamp programme for staff

   We are funding 16 staff places on a new bootcamp programme which will see you complete ’24 in 24’ – that’s 24 sessions in 2024.

10. International Scholarships awarded to 16 students

    16 students were presented with their international scholarships this week at a reception in the Student Life Building.
