   A local community organisation run by one of our academic staff is appealing for donations to support homeless people this winter.

4. Progress on new curriculum management system

   Academic colleagues welcomed the Australian company delivering our new curriculum management system to LJMU for a series of productive in-person sessions.

5. Chair and Panel Member Briefing Sessions

   Three in-person sessions are being offered in Exchange Station for academic colleagues who wish to become a Validation/Periodic Programme Review chair or panel member.

6. Premier League match officials receive expert support from LJMU sport scientists

   Four Premier League professional match officials are receiving strength and conditioning training and physiotherapy sessions with LJMU sport scientists, under a new partnership.

7. Screen School student hailed at international film festival

   A Screen School student has won first prize at the 2019 Pesaro Film Festival. Taking place in Pesaro, Italy, the festival recognises the talents of established and emerging filmmakers, and confers awards covering a range of areas, including a category for university students.

8. July is Disability Pride Month

   July marks the celebration of Disability Pride month. An opportunity to raise awareness and have positive conversations about disability in study and the workplace.

9. LJMU chosen to deliver new policing degrees

   Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) is to offer a new generation of police officer training in partnership with Merseyside Police.

10. Cosmic explosion is brightest of all time

    Dr Dan Perley and Dr Gavin Lamb at the Astrophysics Research Institute record phenomenal burst of energy GRB 221009A after sighting with Liverpool Telescope and James Webb Telescope.
