  4. Suicide crisis and self-harm attendance at A&E in autistic CYP

    Research suggests that autistic people are at a higher risk of suicide than non-autistic people. Figures show that up to 66% of autistic adults had thought about suicide during their lifetime (compared to 20% of non-autistic adults), and up to 35% had planned or attempted suicide.

He has now made the transition to become a full-time member of staff at the university, teaching the next generation of health professionals. In 2023 he was named as an Outstanding Teacher at the students’ union awards after being nominated by his students.
