1. Drama and film producer Colin McKeown awarded honorary professor title by LJMU

   In recognition of his services to education and his enduring support of the university’s media production, film, journalism, drama and creative writing students.

   The Graduate and Placement Jobs Fair takes place on Wednesday 18 October at the Student Life Building, 12-3pm. It will feature 60+ organisations from a range of sectors looking to hire students from across all courses and disciplines. 3. LJMU pledges to secure successful student futures at House of Commons

   22 universities, including Liverpool John Moores University and JMSU have pledged to develop a Student Futures Manifesto joint action between a university and its students to improve the student experience.

4. Praise for LJMU’s support of care leavers from Minister for Higher and Further Education

   LJMU deserves the highest praise for their success according to the Minister for Higher and Further Education, after it was the first of only four institutions to be awarded the National Network for the Education of Care Leavers (NNECL) Quality Mark.

5. Liverpool partnership delivers improved access and support for student mental health services

   Students in Liverpool are benefitting from improved mental health support, thanks to a partnership between universities and NHS services across the city.

6. Paramedic students take on The Paramedic Games 2023

   Paramedic Science students from across LJMU have taken part in a two-day event which saw students, from first, second and third year, compete in eight high fidelity scenarios around the John Foster Building.

7. Apprenticeships and Student Governance policy updates

   The new Apprenticeships Policy has received Academic Board approval and 20 Student Governance policies, guidance and pro forma have recently been reviewed, and have received minor amendments.
