1. Summer graduation 2024

   This July, LJMU celebrated the achievements of 5,341 students who graduated across 15 ceremonies at Liverpool Cathedral.

2. One of only eight universities to secure prestigious international funding

   LJMU has been awarded approximately £490,000 from Research England’s first ever International Investment Initiative (I3). The award has been jointly made to LJMU and The University of Western Australia (UWA) for the international collaboration project, i-CARDIO. The project has a dual focus; the first component is the delivery of workshops to develop innovative ways to detect cardiovascular diseases for preventative intervention using imaging techniques. The second element is the evaluation of Australia’s model of accreditation of clinical exercise scientists and physiologists. The accreditation incorporates university and work place-based learning to enable graduates to secure roles in the healthcare system as recognised allied health professionals.

3. Astro-ecology: Saving endangered animals with software for the stars

   A collaboration between astrophysicists and ecologists at Liverpool John Moores University is helping to monitor rare and endangered species and stop poaching.

4. Criminologists use art and play to question ideas of justice

   LJMU academics work alongside artist to create a board game that brings the experiences of life on probation to the general public.

5. Honorary Fellow The Sorrell Foundation

   Liverpool John Moores University awards Honorary Fellowship to The Sorrell Foundation at Liverpool Cathedral on Thursday 12 July 2018.

6. Life in the fast lane: are digital technologies harming our quality of life?

   A new 1.7m multinational research project - TIMED - is led by LJMUs Dr Ruth Ogden, who shared her thoughts with us.

7. School of Education project inspiring next generation of teachers and students

   Spearheaded by School of Education lecturer, Adam Vasco, the two-year project aims to bridge the gap between school and university to ensure that people of all backgrounds, especially those from the Global Majority, have the confidence and support to choose university study.
