   After 33 years of service, Julie Lloyd (Executive HR Director at LJMU) retires from the University. Julie is passionate about improving gender diversity and will offer tips on how to obtain a top leadership roles and how to promote gender diversity in senior positions.

4. Women In Leadership: What Does It Take For Women To Rise To The Top? (Event Invite - 26th Feb 2020)

   After 33 years of service, Julie Lloyd (Executive HR Director at LJMU) retires from the University. Julie is passionate about the progression of women in the workplace and has always advocated for more women in the boardroom - In her talk, Julie will explore the critical issues as to why we are not seeing more women in top positions and offer tips and strategies for overcoming the challenges to womens advancement and career progression.

5. Let’s Talk About Disability Workshop (Virtual) - Tips For Supporting Staff/Students With Disabilities & Long-Term Health Conditions Including Mental Health

   This is an opportunity for LJMU/JMSU Managers, Programme Leaders and Personal Tutors (those directly responsible for staff/students) to participate in a half day (three hour) virtual, Lets Talk About Disability Workshop in order to gain tips for supporting staff/students with disabilities & long-term health conditions including mental health.

6. Lecturer’s new book examines security at sports mega-events amid the pandemic

   International Relations and Politics with Sociology Lecturer, Dr Jan Ludvigsen, shared insights from his book this week with the LJMU community ahead of its release on Friday 8 April.

   Dr Patrick Byrne and Dr Emma Biles from LJMUs School of Biological and Environmental Sciences recently delivered a week-long sustainable mining workshop in the Philippines

   Research undertaken by LJMU academic, Dr Simone Krüger Bridge, has investigated how Liverpool Cathedrals music outreach programme, one of the vastest in the UK, helped people through the Covid-19 pandemic.

9. International sport coaching programme in Malta hits the right mark

   International specialists in the field of sport coaching at LJMU visited Malta this month, rounding off the academic year, as they brought together UK-based MSc Sport Coaching students with their Maltese counterparts on the MSc International Sport Coaching programme.

10. Literacy programme supports Filipino community during pandemic and beyond

    Senior Education Lecturer Dr Judith Enriquez has helped the community of Alapasco in the Philippines to continue to develop their literacy skills despite the challenges posed by the pandemic.
