Nicola has more than 25 years of experience in primatology research and teaching, tracing her curiosity about primates back to her childhood growing up in East London and making visits to London Zoo. She is also an advocate for driving forwards inclusivity at the university.

Kathleen has been a lecturer at LJMU since 2018, using her expertise and knowledge from a career in counselling to teach students on our MA in Counselling and Psychotherapy Practice programme. In 2023, Kathleen was recognised by her students as Outstanding Personal Tutor in the students’ union, JMSU, Student Experience Awards.

Phil has worked at LJMU for over 16 years. He’s currently the Student Inclusion Lead within the Student Advice and Wellbeing Team and has recently started a new role as Diversity and Inclusion Associate Dean for Professional Services. Since 2010, Phil has also led on organising and representing LJMU at the annual Liverpool Pride March.
Elizabeth is the Head of Primary Programmes within the School of Education, and her own career in teaching brought her to work at the university. In 2023, she won a JMSU Student Experience Award, after being nominated as an outstanding teacher with students praising her for her support, empathy, and enthusiasm in all that she does.
