1. Our LJMU community celebrating Ramadan

   Ramadan begins on 2 April and our LJMU Equality team is sharing the support available for those celebrating plus their advice on how our LJMU community can help students and staff who may be fasting.

2. LJMU and Unite Students host inaugural 'Living Black at University' symposium

   A 'research into action symposium' has been held at LJMU. The event, organised by LJMU Associate Deans: Diversity and Inclusion, explored and shared the experiences of Black students at university and discussed how to turn the research into positive action.

3. Colleagues proudly support Liverpool Against Racism events

   LJMU staff members proudly supported sessions at the Liverpool Against Racism Conference this week, a day of conversation around systematic racism in society and a debate on what meaningful change really looks like.

4. New humanities and social sciences research centre

   The Liverpool Centre for Cultural, Social and Political Research (CSPR) has been established to bring together expertise around humanities and social sciences to drive forward the impact of their work.

5. Students raise £10,290 for Student Minds

   Final year undergraduates have raised £10,290 for Student Minds by completing the National Student Survey, well on the way to our £12,000 fundraising target.

6. New LJMU Film On Tackling Unconscious Bias

   LJMU's new "Never Judge A Book By Its Cover" film explores three key themes; Unconscious Bias, Intercultural Competence and Micro-Aggressions

7. Art on Merseyside celebrated on campus

   LJMU hosted charity Arts Friends Merseyside in recognition of the organisation’s dedication to the arts in the region, while celebrating LJMU's art collections.

8. LJMU Student Named in Merseyside's 30 Under 30

   Rio Boothe is one of the Liverpool Echo's 30 Under 30. The article, penned by LJMU Student Journalist Mackenzie Argent, celebrates Rio and 29 other individuals under the age of 30 who are making significant impacts in Merseyside.

9. Churchill Way Flyovers

   Liverpool City Council will shortly begin the process of demolishing the Churchill Way flyovers.

10. Special Collections and Archives on the BBC

    The Library's 19th century periodicals collection will be featured in an episode of Celebrity Antiques Road Trip on Thursday 24th January. Presenter Martel Maxwell and expert James Braxton talked to Professor Brian Maidment before heading over to the School of Art & Design to be sketched by two graphic design students.
