4. Liverpool School of Art and Design will host its first art-science showcase after being awarded prestigious Leonardo LASER status

   The first LASER session will focus on the theme of faces and identity with presentations on facial skin growth, forensic art and cosmetic surgery.

5. Liverpool leaders share learnings from Reciprocal Mentoring

   The project, which began 14 months ago, saw leaders from across LJMU’s ELT paired with Black and ethnic minority Liverpool city leaders to share their lived experiences and inform policy and decision making at the university and beyond.

   The last day of LJMU's 2016 Summer Graduation Ceremonies took place at Liverpool Cathedral on Friday 15 July.

7. LJMU partnering in major police fatigue study

   The National Police Wellbeing Service has been awarded funding to conduct a study of their sleep fatigue and recovery biometrics programme in partnership with LJMU.

8. LJMU to build world's largest robotic telescope

   Liverpool John Moores University will start work on the world's largest robotic telescope after a £4 million boost from the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC).

9. Students learn traditional techniques to create sustainable fabrics and garments

   Throughout the academic year more than 120 undergraduate, MA and PhD students from a range of disciplines across the Liverpool School of Art and Design have learnt a variety of traditional skills from leatherwork to weaving.

10. Merseyside Chief Constable's Lecture: Guns and Gangs

    Chief Constable of Merseyside Police Andy Cooke QPM delivered this year's Annual Chief Constable's Lecture titled ‘Guns and Gangs’.
