1. Blooming lovely: LJMU cultivates its Forest School

   LJMU is utilising its green spaces with the help of students and volunteers in a bid to enhance primary trainee teachers' education journey with the development of the Forest School Initiative.

2. Network launched to connect sport science experts with PE teachers and sports coaches

   Experts from LJMUs Physical Activity Exchange have launched a new network so that they can better share knowledge and support the professional development of school PE teachers and sports coaches within the Liverpool City Region.

3. Enhancing Research Through Ethical Review

   Debate, discussion and deliberation characterised the first ‘Inside the Research Ethics Committee’ workshop which took place recently and attracted researchers from across the University.

4. Professor & Reader Conferment 2019 – Call for Female Applications

   Each year applications are invited for the conferment of Professorships and Readerships and the process for 2019 is now open.

5. Applications open for Research England Policy Support Fund

   LJMU is being allocated funding from the Research England Policy Support Fund (PSF) to support the development of impactful research and engagement activities. Applications of up to £10,000 will be considered and applicants have until 5pm on Monday 10 October 2022 to make a submission.

6. LJMU joins Higher Education, Transnational Education (TNE) mission to Vietnam and Cambodia

   During the mission, LJMU were able to showcase their University offerings, meet with the UK Ambassador to Vietnam, Gareth Ward, and hold business to business meetings to ignite discussions surrounding the development of transnational education opportunities.

7. Embracing innovation and emerging technologies in the housebuilding sector

   We are demanding more from housing than ever before. Not only should it provide shelter and comfort for inhabitants, but it should also embrace technological advances, contribute positively to energy efficiency, reduce carbon emissions, and support the development of sustainable communities.

8. Athletics coach Graham helps sprinter Ola Abidogun win Commonwealth bronze

   LJMUs Head of Capital Development, Graham Pilkington, was in Birmingham earlier this week as he watched one of his athletes, Ola Abidogun, win bronze in the T45-T47 100m.

9. Chair and Panel Member Briefing Sessions

   Three in-person sessions are being offered in Exchange Station for academic colleagues who wish to become a Validation/Periodic Programme Review chair or panel member.

10. Mind the GaP!

    Time is rapidly running out for Principal Investigators to be trained on the new Grants and Projects (GaP) system. It has been agreed by the University that any bids for external funding (research and enterprise activity) from April 2020 will need to be set up by the Principal Investigator on the GaP system, so its important that you book onto training ASAP.
