1. Support for care experienced students to be enhanced beyond graduation

   A £50,000 donation will be used to help end the ‘care cliff’ for LJMU students as they finish their studies.

   LJMU Drama students have joined forces with LJMUs Public Health Institute to create an educational film helping NHS staff deal with the consequences of gang-related violence in hospitals.

5. Talented athletes recognised at national awards

   Three athletes supported by LJMUs Performance Sport team, at the School of Sport and Exercise Sciences, have received national recognition for their achievements.

6. Strengthening STEM education at primary level across Liverpool

   For the past year, teachers from eight primary schools across the Liverpool City region and South Sefton area have participated in a CPD programme, led by experts at LJMU, to increase confidence and self-efficacy in the teaching of science

7. LJMU recognised for its breastfeeding friendly campus

   Liverpool John Moores University is proud to have been awarded the Liverpool Bambis Breastfeeding Friendly Mayoral Award and this week received the accolade from the Deputy Mayor of Liverpool.

8. Professorship conferred on Vice-Chancellor

   Mark Power, Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive of Liverpool John Moores University, has been conferred as a Professor of Higher Education Leadership.

9. Pupils learn media skills thanks to LJMU and the BBC

   School and college pupils from across the region have gained an insight into the media and creative industries, thanks to LJMU and the BBC.

10. AI can spot wounded wild animals and poachers in camera trap footage

    AI from Liverpool John Moores University is being used to identify animals, plot their movements and spot wounds in a bid to help conservationists, reports New Scientist.
