1. New HEFCE funding to upskill Liverpool City Region’s engineering industry

   LJMU has been awarded a share of £6.1 million by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) to develop new and enhanced higher education courses.

   LJMU has been nominated for three Times Higher Education Leadership and Management Awards (THELMAs).

6. Recognition for China engagement strategy

   LJMU was runner-up in the Education Links Category at the Greater China Awards, awarded by the Department for International Trade (DIT) North West recently.

7. Shortlisted to develop an institutional strategy in learning and teaching

   One of only 34 HE providers to receive HEA funding

8. Improving PGT student identity and their experience through understanding their expectations on entry – the findings from an 11 University HEFCE funded project

   The seminar will provide an opportunity for exploration through some of the findings from the HEFCE funded project.

9. Graduation review Thursday 12 July

   The morning saw graduations from Maritime and Mechanical Engineering, the Astrophysics Research Institute, Electronics and Electrical Engineering and the School of Nursing and Allied Health. In the afternoon Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Engineering and Technology Research Institute, Civil Engineering and Built Environment all celebrated their graduations.

10. First appointment for new Jockey Nutrition and Welfare PhD

    A PhD co-funded by the British Horseracing Authority and LJMU will commence in October with a full-time three year role for Daniel Martin from the Professional Jockeys Association’s Nutrition Team.
