   LJMU knowledge and expertise hit the headlines in January with stories and commentary in New Scientist, The Independent, BBC News 24, The Liverpool Echo, BBC 5 Live and more.

2. Christmas closure and support services over the festive break

   The university will close at 5pm on Thursday 23 December and reopen at 9am on Tuesday 4 January. The Student Life Building will be open 24/7 throughout the festive break including on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day.

4. Are you ready for National Student Money Week?

   During week commencing Monday 3 February 2020, LJMU will be taking part in National Student Money Week. The theme for this year is 'Spend Healthy, Live Healthy: Sustainable Money' and during the week we will focus on reducing waste and saving money.

5. School of Law debates Ukraine invation

   The School of Law held a discussion day on Tuesday on Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukraine for people to learn more about the legal context of the war.

6. Degree Shows 2020 go virtual

   Around 250 graduating artists and designers are reaping the rewards of a huge technological effort to exhibit all final year work on digital platforms as LJMU adapts to the new normal.

7. Registration open for conference on decolonial approaches to teaching and research

   A mini-conference highlighting developments in decolonial approaches to teaching and research across the university featuring three sessions of talks and discussion on decolonising pedagogy, assessment and research methods, will take place in November.

8. NatWest partnership boosts chances for student entrepreneurs

   Students with exciting business ideas are benefitting from a new partnership with banking giant NatWest.
