   LJMU has honoured a group of new fellows at a special ceremony at St George’s Hall.

2. Special Collections and Archives on the BBC

   The Library's 19th century periodicals collection will be featured in an episode of Celebrity Antiques Road Trip on Thursday 24th January. Presenter Martel Maxwell and expert James Braxton talked to Professor Brian Maidment before heading over to the School of Art & Design to be sketched by two graphic design students.

3. Family judge for Cheshire and Merseyside hosts first LAC public debate event

   Her Honour Judge Margaret de Haas QC hosted the first public debate held by LJMU’s Legal Advice Centre, which focused on the legal rights of grandparents.

4. Wonderful week of Bicentenary year graduation ceremonies

   Nearly 5,000 students and 65 members of staff officially graduated this week across 14 joyous ceremonies at Liverpool’s Anglican Cathedral. The graduates will go down in LJMU history, picking up their accolades in the university’s 200th year.

6. Mike Leigh provides memorable experience

   Liverpool Screen School was delighted to welcome award winning writer and director Mike Leigh for a screening and In Conversation event at Redmonds Building.

9. Another successful year for the online summer course “Sustainability and Employability”

   Over 60 students successfully completed the online summer course Sustainability and Employability: Understanding Sustainability Issues and Getting Ready for the Job Market.

10. Campaigning for Inclusion, Equality, Freedom & Justice: LJMU LGBT History Month Event 2019

    LJMU’s Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Team in collaboration with the LJMU LGBTIQ+ Staff Network, presented an opportunity for all LJMU staff, students and members of the local community to attend this year’s Lesbian Gay Bisexual Trans (LGBT) History Month Event (2019).
