  1. Alcohol

    At the Public Health Institute we look into alchohol consumption and harm across a range of populations and environments. We take up original research and study established datasets to understand the impacts of alcohol on society.

  2. School of Law

    The School of Law delivers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes within Law and Criminal Justice to its 1200 plus students. In addition to our programmes, we are also known for our pro bono activities, our innovative research and our excellent links with the legal community.

  3. Professor Pat Shenton OBE (1945-2021)

    During her long career with LJMU, Pat was recognised nationally and internationally as an innovator who was progressive, courageous, and determined to enhance the life chances of young people. Up until her retirement in 2010 she was at the forefront of teacher education, schools, and community engagement; all with lasting legacies to this day.

  5. Co-publishing

  6. Social behaviour, ecology and conservation

    Our interest lies in the evolution of animal societies and the interactions that occur within these societies and their link to emotion, cognition and communication. We primarily study primates (including humans) but also other species including birds.   7. Obi Okeke

    Obi Okeke was Third Mate for Elder Dempster Lines. In his interview, Obi talks about why he joined Elder Demspter Lines, about his time at the University of Southampton and what it was like on board in bad weather conditions.

  9. Hi-Tech Steel Services

    Hi-Tech Steel Services are a St Helens based steel stockholder and processor, with the capacity to process in excess of over 5,000 tonnes of strip mill product per month. LJMU were able to provide access to specialist academic expertise and offer a dedicated resource, enabling Hi-Tech Steel to investigate the options available to them.
