1. LJMU nominated for two THE awards

   LJMU has been shortlisted in two categories for the 2024 THE Awards.

2. Outstanding graduates celebrate success

   At the final winter graduation ceremony, students from the Faculties of Arts, Professional and Social Studies, Science, and Engineering and Technology celebrated receiving their awards in the Liverpool Anglican Cathedral.

3. Project Harpocrates scholarship for police staff seeking a career in covert investigations and intelligence

   The police staff, drawn from Nottinghamshire Police, West Midlands Police and British Transport Police, secured the scholarship opportunity under an initiative known as Project Harpocrates. The project seeks to support law enforcement efforts to recruit and retain staff in the highly specialist area of covert operations and specialist intelligence.  Whilst the project was open to all officers one of the specific aims of the project is to increase the representation of  Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic staff (BAME)  in this challenging and exciting area of investigation and intelligence management.

   Students of LJMU studying Product Design were able to meet with industry partners, engineering and design companies as well as showcase their work at the end of year product design show.

7. Global symposium explores how universities and business schools can maximise social value

   More than 100 people from 12 countries gathered in-person and online for a two-day global symposium hosted by LJMU's Liverpool Business School and Social Value UK.

8. LJMU and LCR collaboration creates 44 apprentices for autism charity

   LJMU has collaborated with LCR to transfer £132,000 of unspent Apprenticeship Levy to Autism Initiatives, funding 44 new apprentice care workers for the charity.

9. Scientists deliver sustainable mining workshop in the Philippines

   Dr Patrick Byrne and Dr Emma Biles from LJMUs School of Biological and Environmental Sciences recently delivered a week-long sustainable mining workshop in the Philippines
