    LJMU is a key partner in working towards the Liverpool City Region’s target to be net zero carbon by 2040. We work with a wide range of other organisations on initiatives to tackle climate change and protect our environment.

  4. SDG 13 - Climate action

    We’re committed to protecting our environment and supporting a sustainable future for our students and the global community. On campus, we launched the UK’s first undergraduate degree on climate change and have revamped our buildings to reduce carbon emissions. Globally, used ground-breaking research to tackle peat fires in Indonesia and we’ve delivered flood resilience workshops in Cumbria.

    The Projects, Operations and Workplace Management Research Group develops solutions for the ever-growing challenges in projects, operations and workplace management and suggests alternative ways to improve organisational performance. Our aim is to really make a difference to how organisations are managed in the future.

  7. Louisa Flitter

    Louisa Fitter is a Civil Engineering Senior Project Manager at the Environment Agency, and she was chosen as a Bicentenary year honorary fellow for her work as a STEM ambassador for women in engineering and being a role model to current LJMU students.
