1. New HEFCE funding to upskill Liverpool City Region’s engineering industry

   LJMU has been awarded a share of £6.1 million by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) to develop new and enhanced higher education courses.

2. Sport and Exercise Science education adds £3.9 billion income to the UK economy

   Results of a new report show that Sport and Exercise Science courses added £3.9 billion in income to the UK economy, with average salaries for SES graduates after six months of employment at £21,100 per annum. Over the course of their careers, SES graduates earn on average £667,000 more compared to their non-graduate peers.

4. Public Health Institute and Drama students create educational film on gang-related violence

   LJMU Drama students have joined forces with LJMUs Public Health Institute to create an educational film helping NHS staff deal with the consequences of gang-related violence in hospitals.

6. LJMU partnerships to tackle skills gap in construction

   LJMU wowed industry partners with its future homes research at the launch of a new £370,000 centre for construction skills.

7. Criminology students visit Slovenia for international crime and harm reduction discussions

   Students and staff from the Criminology Department, School of Justice Studies recently spent a week in Ljubljana, Slovenia to discuss crime and harm reduction with a range of governmental and non-governmental organisations.

8. Scholarships for people of colour on policing course

   Opportunities for people of colour in specialist policing roles including counter-terrorism are being made available thanks to a partnership involving Liverpool John Moores University.

   Liverpool John Moores University has been awarded top 20 positions, across seven categories, in the StudentCrowd University Awards 2023
